  • Serve Rotation: Each player must serve two points in a row, and then the serve rotates to the opponent. The serve must be made from behind the table and must bounce once on the server's side before crossing over to the receiver's side.
  • Let Rule: If the serve touches the net but still lands on the opponent's side, it is considered a "let," and the server gets to retake the serve without any penalty.
  • Scoring: The match consists of a predetermined number of games, best of three and Each game is played to 11 points, and the player who reaches 11 points first wins the game and the player winning minimum 2 games out of 3 would win the match.
  • Alternating Sides: Players switch sides of the table after every odd-numbered game in a match (e.g., after the first game, third game, etc.). This ensures fairness by accounting for any variations in playing conditions.
  • Ball in Play: The ball remains in play as long as it hits the table surface within the sidelines and the end lines. If the ball touches the net but still lands within the opponent's half, it counts as a legal shot.
  • Double Bounce Rule: During the rally, each player must allow the ball to bounce once on their side before returning it. Afterward, the ball can be volleyed or returned without bouncing.
  • Continuous Play: Players should strive to maintain a continuous flow of the game without excessive delays. The ball should be kept in play as much as possible, promoting quick reactions and reflexes.
  • Fair Play and Sportsmanship: Players should adhere to the principles of fair play, respect their opponents, and follow the rules and decisions made by the umpire or referee.
  • Ace: If a player serves an Ace i.e if the opponent doesn't touch the ball/cannot receive the ball then the person serving would get 2 points.
